The Revolution Longest Lap (aka Marymoor Crawl) debuted at Round 1 of the Revolution Series and was won by Adam Blythe over Team Sky’s Ben Swift. This event is a unique test of athletes speed and skill, requiring them to trackstand at the start/finish line for up to 4 minutes without crossing it. Riders get eliminated if they put a foot down, grab the rail, ride off the track surface, fall or touch another rider or ride backwards during the trackstanding period. When the bell rings after 3- 4 minutes, riders sprint one lap around the track. It’s a unique event that is a real mental test as well as a physical one. Project Clothing is proudly partnering with SurfVolley! SurfVolley is an initative developed by Natalie Cook, 5 times beach volleyball Olympian who won bronze in 1996 Olympics and GOLD! in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
The SurfVolley program provides kids in Nippers the opportunity and option to play beach volleyball on our beaches at participating Surf Clubs. By providing a fun, engaging and inspiring environment, kids are encouraged to be themselves whilst learning some new skills. Being involved in a team sport such as beach volleyball has proven to build confidence and teamwork in our Aussie Kids. Working with a number of partners such as Surf Clubs and The Australian Volleyball Federation, Nat has designed a structured program that will not only boost youth participation numbers in Beach Volleyball and leave a strong legacy for the future of the sport in Australia, but also provide an additional fun and new activity for Nippers that promotes fun and teamwork!
Look out for Project teamwear on the SurfVolley team this summer! If you are interested in getting your Surf Lifesaving club involved then head on over to the SurfVolley website!
